Image and Description for Poem #531

We dream – it is good we are dreaming –
It would hurt us – were we awake –
But since it is playing – kill us,
And we are playing – shriek –
What harm? Men die – externally –
It is a truth – of Blood –
But we – are dying in Drama –
And Drama – is never dead –
Cautious – We jar each other –
And either – open the eyes –
Lest the Phantasm – prove the Mistake –
And the livid Surprise
Cool us to Shafts of Granite –
With just an Age – and Name –
And perhaps a phrase in Egyptian –
It’s prudenter – to dream –
Description,
This
poem is about two different types of people, the first being; people
who can dream up fantasies and use their imagination to create a drama
for entertaining themselves and others. The second being; people who
take everything literally, don’t stray from the obvious, make sure not
to stand out, they are dull, ordinary, righteous, and condemning of
others.
Not being able to see beyond reality can be harmful. If
someone doesn’t know how to play or “dream”, and took you seriously
every time you were just having fun, toying, or “playing” with their
emotions, they would physically try to harm you. “It would hurt us –
were we awake –“. But, “it is good we are dreaming-“ because like a
mother who chases her child, the child “shrieks” out in terror, but
knows in the end they are only “playing”.
It is sad “Men die –
externally –“ only living in their own screwed up reality, never seeing
beyond the curtain to heaven, only seeing things for what they are, a
teapot always being just a teapot. To them if you are so called “good”
you are going to heaven, and if you sin your going to “hell”. But thank
God “we- are dying in Drama –/ And Drama – is never dead –“, Meaning you
can live on this earth and be in heaven at the same time.
Let your
“Phantasm” be real, create your drama, manipulate by “playing” with each
other’s emotions, cautiously “jar each other”, “Surprise” them until a
rush of blood runs through their veins and they scream “livid”. Because
that is when you feel life. Or else you are dead, stiff as a tombstone
“Cool us to Shafts of Granite –/ With just an Age – and Name -/ And
perhaps a phrase in Egyptian-/ It’s prudenter – to dream”.
